”Some days it is hard to fight for space in this world as a transman, but there is an intrinsic beauty in seeing the world from a unique viewpoint. This journey isn’t always easy, but it has lifted the veil of suppressive norm and allowed me to transform into the best version of myself.”
In honor of National Coming Out Day, we’re sharing coming out stories from HER users all over the world!

#WeMetOnHER: Charlie & Georgia
Charlie and I met on HER on the 26th of January 2016 and we met in real life on the 31st! By the 6th of February we were officially together and we’ve not looked back since. We even spent 3 months apart in different countries as she went to work at a summer camp. I’ve truly met the love of my life and I never thought it could be possible!
She’s one amazing girl and we both can’t believe we met on an app!

#WeMetOnHER: Katy & Amanda
We first messaged each other on HER in August 2015 and met up about a week later. She invited me to a party at a bar called a “Jersey party” where you’re expected to wear a sports jersey – I didn’t have one. As soon as I got to the bar, I ordered a margarita, to muster up some liquid courage before talking to Amanda. Ever since that day, we were inseparable and it quickly became clear that I wanted to keep sharing laughs over dinner, adventures, weird parties together, late nights, and everything else with this beautiful woman.
Fast forward to December 23rd, 2016… this is Amanda’s account of the day: I woke up Friday morning, laced up my running shoes and headed out the door for a casual run, like most mornings. I met my friend and we ran north for a bit and started running back south, and she kept saying “let’s go a little bit further and get some extra miles in. I wanna show you something,” which I didn’t think anything of. As we got closer to Fullerton I started to see neon signs with my name on them and one was even playing one of our songs. Instant tears came and I looked up ahead and saw Katy in the distance standing between one of my favorite spots on the path, the Siddhartha heads. I ran to her so in shock and awe. I still can’t believe how perfect it was and how special she made this moment. WE ARE ENGAGED. I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and the most beautiful soul. Words can’t even describe this feeling. Tears, shouting, jumping up and down, laughs, HUGE ass smiles, and more to come!

#WeMetOnHER: Emily & Sami
My girlfriend Sami and I met on HER at the very beginning of our last semester in college. With it being the last semester of college I was not looking for anything serious, but from the moment I matched with her I knew she was special and I had to find out more about her. We instantly had a connection that was unlike anything I had experienced especially so quickly and we could not get enough of each other. It did not matter what we were doing, I just wanted to experience life with her. She made the last few months of college the most memorable moments of my life and we both knew that the end of college would not be the end of us. We decided to move to San Diego together to continue our journey and I have never been happier. She is the most loving, supportive, beautiful soul and she brings out the best in me every single day! It is crazy that none of this would be possible without the HER social app, so for all of you out there who doubt that you can find someone special in the world of online dating, I am here to tell you you’re wrong! I can’t thank HER enough for changing my life by bringing my beautiful girl to me!!
